Ed Colbourne had temporarily taken on the position of Secretary in 2010, he then took on the position of Vice Chair for 2011, and took on the position of the Chair of the IAHSS Alberta Chapter. He is currently an Advisor, Enterprise Security Systems, for Alberta Health Services in Edmonton, Alberta. Ed has over 23 years in the Security Industry. Before Ed graduated from Grant MacEwan University in 1994, completing the Law Enforcement and Security diploma, he had spent 10 years in the Military as a Communications Officer at NDHQ Ottawa. He has been involved with Loss Prevention, Private Investigations, Fire and Life Safety and was a Community Peace Officer for a number of years. Ed has also been involved with several Committees’ such as OHS&W, Emergency Preparedness, Site Operations/Staff Leadership and Chair of Staff Appreciation & Recognition. Ed is looking forward to working with the team, to again have a very successful IAHSS Alberta Chapter Conference in Red Deer this year.

Eric began his career in healthcare security after graduating from Grant McEwen University with a diploma in Law Enforcement. He spent his next 10 years working in healthcare in the capacity of front-line security and then moving into a supervisory role. Eric then spent 4 years with the City of Edmonton in the Law Branch working as Corporate Security Advisor before returning to healthcare. Eric returned to healthcare in 2007 as the Manager for Security and Facility Safety for the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton and later as the Director for Protective Services for the Edmonton Zone. Eric current role is the Executive Director for the North Zone Protective Services group. Eric continued his educational opportunities after graduating from Grant McEwen University, he has since obtained his Security Management Certificate from University of Alberta, Certified Protection Professional designation from the American Society for Industrial Security, Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety and most recently Change Leadership Certificate from e-Cornel University. Eric is looking forward to working with this Chapter Executive and its membership.

Ryan Cammidge currently works for Alberta Health Services as the Operational director for the Edmonton Zone.  Ryan has worked for AHS for the past 15 years.  Prior to his position in healthcare, Ryan enjoyed diverse and challenging careers with the Provincial Government as well as with the City of Edmonton as a Peace Officer.  Ryan is a graduate of both the University of Alberta and Grant McEwan University.  Ryan assumed the role of IAHSS Alberta Chapter Treasurer in January of 2017 and continues to enjoy his position on the Committee.

Adam Rutherford began working with Alberta Health Services in 2009 as a Security Officer at the Glenrose Hospital. Becoming a Team Lead and later a Manager, Adam has been excited to work out of multiple facilities before taking over as the Director of Enterprise Security Systems in 2020. Adam is a graduate of the Police Studies program from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario and has completed his CHPA certification in 2014 and Security Management certificate from the University of Calgary in 2016. 

Adam began his role as webmaster for the IAHSS Alberta Chapter and assumed the role of IAHSS Alberta Chapter Secretary in January of 2017 and is looking forward to engaging membership through the website and at our yearly conferences.
